Frosted Leaf
January 24, 2009
Returning to my daily photo blog for 2009 with this sycamore leaf on the frosted lawn. Taken with my new Panasonic LX3 advanced P&S.
Xmas in June
November 23, 2008
We're considering photos for our Season's Greetings cards. Here's one of the candidates from our vacation to the Oregon Coast in June of this year. This is the Yaquina Head Light in Newport Beach. A lucky shot taken with my Powershot G6 since the sun was so bright I couldn't see the image on the LCD. I took it standing on Cobble Beach which is its own exercise in maintaining balance and stability.
Burgerville USA
November 11, 2008
One of our local burger chains. We stopped here Saturday night after the football game.
Championship Game
November 9, 2008
My grandson, Zack, Number 43, gets ready for the snap. His team, the Southridge Skyhawks went undefeated in regular season but lost this game for the championship.
Everybody's Doing It
November 7, 2008
A shot of local color heading into our rainy fall season.
Old City Water Office Facade
November 6, 2008
Stuck in traffic (yes, sometimews it happens here!) today and saw this on SE 7th. It's now the retail space for
Citizen's Photo. Very cool entry for sure. Now I'm curious to patronize the store both to get a close up look of the entry facade and to view the interior. Oh, and to check out the cameras!
Muu-Muu's
November 5, 2008
Went with a friend to see
A Man Named Pearl at Cinema 21 in the
Alphabet District. Muu-Muu's is next door. A divy looking place with good food and crazy people watching.
Yelpers give it three and a half stars. I would agree. Definitely more for the 20-30-somethings crowd based on a quick survey of the main clientele.
My Oregon Ballot
November 4, 2008
Thankfully, we in the State of Oregon vote completely by mail. I feel so pleased they give us a paper ballot with names and measures clearly marked. I photographed my vote a couple of days ago before sending it off.
Pres-Elect Obama, Godspeed.
Halloween Cat
October 29, 2008
Had a lucky moment yesterday when Arnie, our Bombay cat, was sitting in the window on a beautiful day. What a great cat!
OHSU Center For Health And Healing
October 28, 2008
Took this late last week at the beginning of a stretch of fine fall weather.
This is OHSU's South Waterfront campus. The second floor is where my gym is,
March-Wellness. It's a pretty
amazing building with its own bioreactor for recycling and reusing rainwater and lots of other green characteristics. If you click to make the photo larger then look closely above the upper floor windows, you can see solar panels on the upper eight floors or so. The tram connects to OHSU's main campus on Marquam Hill.
What I liked about this photo is the straight, orderly building set next to the slightly askew tram tower in brilliant blue skies.
