dailyeye > Bergsundsstrand (where we stayed) from across the water.
dailyeye > The Stortorget, or city square, is in Gamla Stan, the Old City. This well dates from 1778.
dailyeye > View of the Old City of Stockholm, Gamla Stan, from across Lake Malaren.  The church spire is Riddarholmskyrkan, built on the 13th-century site of Greyfriars Abbey.  Riddarholmskyrkan holds the crypts of all the Swedish monarchs from Gustav II Adolf (17th century) to the present day.
dailyeye > In the center of the New City of Stockholm(built, by the way, in the mid 18th century) is Gustav II Adolf's equestrian statue unveiled in 1796.  The are is known as Kungsträdgården, or the King's Garden.
dailyeye > Art in Lake Mälaren!  Stockholm, the Swedish capital, is built on 14 islands in Lake Mälaren and Saltsjön, an inlet from the Baltic Sea so there is plenty of water around to make art that attracts attention.
