Tropicana

We are in Las Vegas for NAB. This is my favorite shot of the Tropicana Hotel entry. I think it typifies the feeling of this old-style, 50s hotel on the Las Vegas Strip. In my opinion, it has the best free-flowing energy around the pool area, situated as it is, in the center of the hotel complex with many intimate side spaces, lots of mature palms and bamboos, birds, waterfalls, and space for the winds to circulate.
Like all things Vegas, this hotel's charm is going away soon with the announcement that the site will be "redeveloped" and most (though not all) of the current buildings will be demolished so they can add towers, thousands of more rooms, and a bigger convention center. You can read about it on the Wikipedia link above. :(
