Cephalopod

Made this photo on the day I took the walk with my photo teacher in SE Portland.  At the time, I expected it to be a last minute, throw-away shot since I'd made two other, more "formal" shots straight on.  The straight on shots, though, did nothing for me.  They just lay there doing nothing.  This angled photo, wonky as it is, feels dynamic.  I love the purple bands on each side and the repeating reddish little triangles in the upper and lower corners.

Very, very cool. There's so much going on here, so much movement, so much rhythm created by your repeating forms. The two purple guys looking down. The seven jellyfish creatures with tentacles dripping down and then away. Look at all the diagonality you've got going on. And then look at the contrast between square windows and rounded jellies. Hoo ha! Fun shot. Major kudos. Wish I'd taken this one.

i thought you HAD shot this, which is why I felt shy of going up to it myself. Except at the last moment when we were walking away, I HAD to make myself compose something with it in my camera because it is SO cool!

Well, shoot, maybe I did! I'm going to have to re-visit my pictures and really see what I have. Don't think mine could compare with yours -- yours is really good.
